People Procrastinate Because Of The Fear Of Setting The Wrong Goal
People often procrastinate and don’t set goals because they are not exactly sure what they want to create in their lives. They have a concept of what they think they want to create, however they don’t know how to verbalize it.
As a result, this procrastination stops them from moving forward with their lives.
The underlining fear is that they are afraid of setting the wrong goal. They don’t want to waste their time chasing a wrong goal. This becomes a catch 22 because when you are doing nothing you are stuck while time passes you by.
The reason for setting goals in the first place is for the perceived benefit you get when you achieve the goal.
If you think you know what the goal is, isn’t it best to investigate how important it really is to you rather than do nothing. The feeling attached to this goal will not leave you easily. They can hang onto you for years and even decades. When you explore the possibilities now, you will realize
The benefits of the goal are not what you want or
You rejoice in creating a life of your imagination.
When you make the decision to genuinely go for a goal, you will start to evolve. What you will find is that as you pick up more resources you will get a clearer picture of the benefits you are seeking. As you get a better definition you might find that the perceived benefits of achieving the goal are not congruent with the outcome of the goal. You will be able to tweak your goal so that you can chase the benefits you desire.
It is far better to set a goal and chase it then to procrastinate. Setting a goal will give you clarity, even if this clarity is that what you thought you wanted wasn’t actually what you wanted.
By doing this, you are a step closer to realizing your real benefits you are seeking.
